Embark on a seismic journey in earthquake engineering, where students explore the art of crafting resilient structures through hands-on experimentation! Earthquake engineering is the design, development, and production of earthquake resistant structures. Students will explore earthquake-resistant building techniques by designing, building, and testing a structure made of various materials. Using a shake table to simulate an earthquake, we will follow a process of repeated designing, testing, redesigning and retesting a structure with the goal of constructing a building that can survive an earthquake. Come see if you have what it takes to design a Seismic Solution!
Pizza lunch will be provided. Students may bring their own lunch if they prefer.
Early drop (8:15-9) and Late pickup (3:30 – 4:15) available for this class for $15.
