The Downtown Discovery series is a full day of fun, friendship, and adventure set in the heart of Iowa City’s Crown Jewel: the Pedestrian Mall! Perfect for curious and energetic kids, this camp is all about exploring the best our vibrant downtown has to offer—through games, treats, and hands-on discovery.

Strike up some fun with another no-school day Downtown Discovery day full of movement, laughter, and sweet rewards! Campers will enjoy the excitement of bowling at SpareMe, and a tasting and creative experience with the owner of Sweets and Treats, in downtown Iowa City.

In addition to these signature experiences, campers will take part in Ped Mall and downtown scavenger hunts (weather pending), a playful mini duck hunt challenge, and plenty of exploration time in the heart of Iowa City. From rolling strikes to uncovering hidden clues, this day offers a dynamic mix of games, discovery, and community connections that make every moment memorable.

Pick-up and Drop-Off will likely be at our MERGE location in downtown Iowa City. If the weather is trending warm enough that we can spend additional time outside, we may pivot to Camp Iowa City on Iowa Ave. Specific information will be shared with families one week prior to camp.
