The Downtown Discovery series is a full day of fun, friendship, and adventure set in the heart of Iowa City’s Crown Jewel: the Pedestrian Mall! Perfect for curious and energetic kids, this camp is all about exploring the best our vibrant downtown has to offer—through games, treats, and hands-on discovery.

On this Nov 4 No-School Camp, GoldCap campers will set out for a full day of downtown exploration and discovery, packed with scavenger hunts, creative challenges, and playful activities that will get them moving, thinking, and working together as a team. From Ped Mall hunts to a mini duck hunt and other downtown adventures, kids will love uncovering surprises while building their resourcefulness and problem-solving skills.

For lunch the group will enjoy a private pizza party at Camp Iowa City, and later top off the day with a sweet stop at Yotopia, where campers can swirl their own froyo and choose their favorite toppings. With the perfect balance of fun, food, and discovery, this camp experience captures the very best of downtown Iowa City.

Come back and treat your kids to a no-school day experience only GoldCap can provide! Pick-Up and Drop off will be at either MERGE in the PedMall, or Camp Iowa City, based on the weather. We will share out specific information the week prior, and connect with registered parents about any needs for extended care.
